Why is my house hot even with the AC running?
Your AC is fighting a losing battle. If your roof and walls keep absorbing heat all day, the AC has to work constantly just to keep up, it never actually gets ahead. That's why the room still feels warm, or the AC cycles nonstop and your bill climbs.
Does reflective heat paint actually work?
It helps a little, but not for long. Reflective paint reflects about 20% of sunlight and fades with dust, needing reapplication every 2-3 years. It doesn't stop heat that's already been absorbed from moving into the room.
Are curtains, fans, or exhaust fans enough?
They help with comfort but don't fix the actual problem. Fans move air around, they don't reduce how much heat is entering through your roof or walls in the first place.
